I change the setting I mentioned above but I do not know a good way to test it other then waiting for an update to one of the programs I am using it for (I would have to be able to hit update and allow it to grab an older version, then hit update again after deleting the old file to make sure it doesn't re-download it, then hit update AGAIN with the new version on the site to check if it still grabs new versions). ![]() Gotta move its database from the %appdata% to its exe directory on the USB. Was not clear to me until I read this at the bottom. One important thing to remember is that Ketarin is not usb only unless database is moved from hd to usb. I really have not kept up with Ketarin forum, program is that easy, but am sure this is explained in details. Hmm, that "new" setting might work, if it means what you hope for. May try that but really have no way of testing it until Piriform updates something. So maybe checking that will tell it not to re-download the file if its the same (that way, as long as the file name changes for each update, it will download new files but never re-download the old zip unless you change the option back). zip stays the same (pretty sure it stores the zip in the database, I know the XML exported files do indeed show the last file name for each file that it downloaded). The problem is I do not think you can tell Ketarin to check against file size instead of file name (I could be wrong though, might be a simple option that I missed), but if it did check filesize and it stored the last files file size then that may work.now that I think about it (and launch Ketarin to check) there IS an option to "Ignore file information (do not re-download if file is missing)", checking that means it shouldn't download the file if the. Tool is not perfect but incredible convinient once done. Sometimes X entry times out when doing "Only check for update" but is actually just fine. ![]() Some links require a spoofted http referer, most do not. That way it can be used in commandline after download, "7z x ". Which is why I put 7z.exe in Ketarin folder. Some programs are only avail as zip-file. Those from Nirsoft in 64bit version I update manually or I should. ![]() WSCC is a Ketarin within Ketarin, updates and organize the 250? programs from Nirsoft and SysInternals. Like it does when in contact with every single family member.Īlso it has some system diagnostic programs, update stuff. I don't use this stuff every day so the plan was to have it all ready in a flash, easy to pick up when need came up. I probably never finish it but if I were a professional I would, heh. a list of files/folders for OTL to scan for when making report. Not done with the menu-program Pstart Not needed but it has option for notes which can come in handy when it comes to virus cleaning, ie. If not working it might not be a good idea to insert - really need a usb key with a on/off writhe swicth. I have put a program in a dropbox which makes usb not-writeable. The browser QtWeb also has av bookmarks, Windows help etc. If I wanted a real useful usb, like a mini-computer, I would just use use Portable Apps or similar but I focus this one on virus cleanups. I mainly use Ketarin for having portable programs ready, not so much installation files. ![]()
