![]() ![]() Schalke is relegated from the Bundesliga and forced to sell Abbedagge to 100T (allowing 100T to upgrade by far their worst player)įair play to 100T for having the resources to make good on these opportunities but you can’t expect most other orgs to have this same string of luck or have the resources to capitalize on it.Įdit: Going to clarify a bit more on the above: GGS runs out of money due to COVID and has to sell entire roster to 100Tģ. Other orgs would have a hard time emulating this due to lack of budget and luck.įor 100T to win, the following had to happen:ġ. No brand and no signs of competitive ambition.ġ00T’s success came off the back of having money to spend at the perfect time (post COVID). I do agree that CLG, DIG, IMT, & GG really lack any sort of appeal at this point. If they rebranded to "Mad Geniuses" their branding would feel correct. And while the half-assed "Evil" branding has faded, they are leaning all in to Jiizuke's wildness. ![]() Peter Dun, Impact, and Ignar were great acquisitions. It didn't work out, I think largely due to coaching staff, but the ideas are really good.ĮG is doing great too, investing into young players like Danny and Jojopyun while also looking to replicate the TSM/TL approach of "just win". A veteran, a dark horse minor region player, and three young players. It's not their fault that the Bucks slashed their budget but even so they chose a solid direction. And they managed to make themselves into a pretty solid team for a little while. Really incorporating fan feedback like when they changed their logo. Charity and Spanish streams, happy good guy players like Wildturtle and now Josedeodo (I think). ![]() I think it is time the community let's go of this mentality that 100 Thieves are outsiders in the community because they are doing things the right way and it can only benefit the LCS overall if more teams are like themįlyQuest have built a great brand on being the good boys of the LCS. With how much they have built out revenue streams for their company, they have the money to go and be competitive in the offseason when teams like GG and others are slashing budgets for their teams. I also feel like they have done their best to always try to help their players as much as possible (Unless your name is Meteos maybe?) if things don't work out with them.Īnd yes, I happen to like their merch and merch has benefits too. They showed up in the LCS and had some of, if not the best content of any of the LCS teams.ġ00 Thieves has listened when the community had negative feedback around the handling of Cody Sun in the first worlds run and became as transparent as any company can be. If you aren't one of the big three you have to do something to differentiate yourself from them and put your own mark on the LCS and I feel like 100 Thieves had that goal in mind from the get go. To me, it feels like they are investments made by some billionaires and the only thing that they care about is turning a profit. So many of the lesser teams don't even feel like they are in this to win it. I know a lot of legacy fans are cemented in their ways when it comes to supporting the big 3 (TL, TSM, and C9) but if you are a newer fan of the LCS like me, you should want your team to be the next 100 Thieves. ![]()
